Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why does my monoblock amplifier shut down or run burning hot when driving this slim box?
The CS110LG-TW3 features an internal 10TW3-D4 driver pre-wired in parallel to a low 2-ohm final impedance. If paired with a bridged multi-channel amplifier not explicitly rated stable down to 2 ohms, the amp will overheat and trip protection mode.
- • Why does the bass output sound quiet, stiff, and completely lacking punch right out of the box?
The shallow-mount TW3 driver relies on a rigid concentric tube suspension structure that requires a stiff break-in period. The rubber surround and dual spiders need roughly 10 to 15 hours of moderate play to loosen up and reach full efficiency.
- • Why am I hearing a physical vibrating or rattling noise coming from the speaker grille?
The flat polymer mesh grille can bend slightly if trunk cargo presses hard against it, causing the high-excursion TW3 cone to physically slap the mesh during deep notes. Ensure there is a small clearance gap in front of the box.
- • What is the difference between this model and the CS110TG-TW3, and which one fits a truck better?
The "LG" (Large/Low-profile) enclosure is wide and perfectly flat at 4.5 inches deep. The "TG" version is a narrower, angled truck-wedge box that tapers toward the top to lean flush against the rear cab wall of single-cab trucks.
- • Why does the bass roll off sharply and disappear on ultra-deep rap and R&B notes?
This ultra-compact cabinet relies on a tight, sealed alignment optimized for punchy musical accuracy rather than window-shaking depth. Frequencies dipping below 35Hz naturally roll off fast due to the ultra-small enclosure volume.
- • Why do I hear a mechanical "ticking" or clicking sound from the sub during heavy bass hits?
Because a shallow-mount sub has compressed internal physical clearances, a clipped audio signal from an overdriven amplifier will cause the voice coil to violently bottom out. Lower your amplifier's gain knob immediately to stop the mechanical noise.
- • What size amplifier is safe to use without accidentally melting the voice coils?
The enclosure handles 400 watts RMS cleanly. Pair it with a monoblock amplifier supplying between 250W and 400W RMS at 2 ohms. If using a 500W amp, make sure to back off the input gain to prevent thermal voice coil burnout.

It makes me enjoy all my bass-heavy music songs more as it brings the whole music to new heights. Highly recommend it, the output is incredible. Powering it with a Kenwood amp, and the amount of bass it puts out was a nice surprise! Great sound from a small package, solid and tight bass. It can handle enough to give me the sound I'm looking for.

Fits perfectly in my Jeep! Size is amazing for a 10-inch enclosure. Very powerful but the sound quality is truly exceptional. True JL AUDIO quality! A bit expensive for my budget but so much worth it
